Board Policies Code of Ethics

The Board of Directors of Goodwill Industries of Central Arizona, Inc., adopts the following Code of Ethics to guide and regulate its business practices, service delivery and professional responsibilities. The Code of Ethics policy shall be signed by each Board member at the annual meeting. If a Board member is absent from the annual meeting, the signed policy document shall be received in the Office of the President/CEO by no later than 15 days after the annual meeting has taken place.

As a Goodwill Board member, I pledge to:

• Maintain the highest standards of professional and personal conduct in the performance of Goodwill’s mission;
• Show respect for the value and dignity of the individual in all of my activities;
• Maintain the confidentiality of privileged information;
• Abstain from using my position as a Director of Goodwill to secure special personal privilege, gain or benefit, and avoid any conflict of interest, in fact or appearance;
• Disclose to all other members of the Board as a matter of record any duality of interest or possible conflict of interest when the interest becomes a matter of Board action, and again through an annual procedures;
• Promote fiscal stability and practice responsible application of resources;
• Uphold and obey all laws and regulations in performance of Goodwill’s operations, including the Bylaws and Board Policies;
• Work with Staff and other Board members as a team towards accomplishing the objectives and mission of the organization;
• Communicate through designated communication channels related to the solicitation of specific Goodwill information with the respective Committee Chairs, Board Chair, Vice Chair or President/CEO as appropriate;
• Conduct Goodwill’s business and affairs in a manner that merits the trust and support of the public, and
• Report any suspected violations of the Code of Ethics to the Board Chair, President/CEO, or other individuals(s) as is appropriate.

I will abide by this Code of Ethics in all my activities in the services of Goodwill Industries of Central Arizona, Inc.
