History & Mission Goodwill of Central Arizona, founded in 1947, is a private, not-for-profit organization whose mission is to serve people with disabilities or people who would otherwise face obstacles to entering the workforce. Last year, nearly 10,000 people received services at Goodwill and more than 2,300 were placed in competitive employment. We put people to work! Moreover, Goodwill is a distinguished leader in the “Charities You Can Trust” list. This list tells potential donors which organizations provide the most value from the gifts they are given. Furthermore, Goodwill of Central Arizona has received a Three-Year accreditation by The Rehabilitation Accreditation Commission (CARF) for the following:
Our operating revenue is generated primarily through the collection of donated clothing and household goods that are sold in our 36 retail stores. These stores are located in the Phoenix area, Prescott and Yuma. Ninety percent of all revenue is channeled back into our communities through job training and placement services. We are a part of Goodwill Industries International, Inc., a network of 207 community-based, autonomous member organizations in North America and 22 other countries.
