Ecademie High School 2009 Graduation
In May, hundreds of proud family members, friends, Ecademie staff members and Goodwill employees gathered in the Bulpitt Auditorium at Phoenix College, to celebrate the achievements of Ecademie's Class of 2009 during a festive ceremony.
Principal Kristen Smith gave an emotional address to the Ecademie graduates.
"Today is a day of celebration and pride," said Smith. "I hope that you work hard and continue to learn. You are receiving your diplomas today but there is so much more to learn and accomplish."
The touching stories of all students were read as they walked on stage to collect their diplomas. Many of the Ecademie pupils were first-generation graduates.

Ecademie High School 2009 Prom
Prom is an exciting experience for high school seniors.
A total of 100 students attended the Eagles Campus prom titled, “Red Carpet Affair,” held at the Hyatt Regency in Phoenix on May 24.
Students enjoyed desserts, punch, music and a photographer was on scene to take pictures.
The Cinderella Affair, a local program that collects and distributes gently used formalwear, provided prom dresses and accessories for 27 female students at no-cost. Several male pupils visited Goodwill's Clothes Closet to pick up brand-new dress shirts, slacks and ties for the occasion.
Ecademie Nutranite
As part of its commitment to provide educational nights for parents and students, Ecademie High School hosted a Nutranite event on Sept. 24 at the Eagles Campus in Phoenix.
During Nutranite; which was organized by Viviana Lee (Ecademie Family-Community Liaison), instructor Ryan Black discussed the importance of nutrition and how to make quick, tasty and healthy meals.
Principal Kristen Smith said the goal of Nutranite is "to educate parents about the need to provide nutritious foods to their children. Research has shown that healthy students are more successful in the classroom."
Smith said that Ecademie's menu was recently approved by the Hispanic Nurses Association which further validates the school's philosophy of ensuring that each student reaches his or her fullest potential through a well-rounded education that includes nutrition.
