Goodwill opens second store in Prescott; 40th overall in central Arizona
While the wind blew cold with nearby mountain air, more than 200 Prescott residents waited in line outside Goodwill of Central Arizona’s 40th store opening on March 13. Local shoppers enjoyed great bargains, refreshment and merriment as they hustled to find treasures among the 7,000 items organized around the 26,178 square-foot location.
“We love you guys here,” said Mayor Jack Wilson. “We’re glad to have a second store to support Prescott.”
The two Prescott stores are forecasted to generate more than $2.2M in revenue for our Mission and keep more than 2.5 million pounds of goods out of Prescott’s landfills. Additionally, the new store generated 30 new jobs and will contribute almost $1M in wages to the local economy.
“The entire Grand Opening team really hustled to open this store, “said John Stoddard, District Manager. “They did an outstanding job and we are well represented in Prescott.”
Goodwill already offers Rehabilitation Services to Arizonans living in Prescott and Chino Valley and with the new store space available – Goodwill will eventually open a Career Center sometime in 2010 – adding even more services and positive impact to the local communities.
