Goodwill needs your donations now more than ever
Goodwill of Central Arizona understands that people are tightening their budgets and stretching their dollars. In these tough economic times, Goodwill sales are up and more people are coming to us for help finding a job. The sale of our donations translates into job training programs and employment services for Arizona youth and adults.
Goodwill is working hard to keep up with the increased demand for its job training programs and career services as national unemployment rates continue to rise. Goodwill cannot provide these critical services without community donations to sell in our stores. Goodwill of Central Arizona is asking people to be generous this spring as they clean out their closets and donate gently used clothing and housewares at one of its 42 donation drop-off centers.
“Donating clothing and household goods is a simple way to support the revitalization of Arizona’s workforce,” said Jim Teter, President and CEO of Goodwill of Central Arizona. “Donors and community residents know that Goodwill is a trusted, reputable charity that gives individuals get a hand up when they need it the most."
When someone is having a hard time finding a job, either because of a disability, lack of education or work experience, Goodwill is there to help. We do that by selling your donations in Goodwill stores and using the revenues to fund critical human services and job training programs. Last year, more than 23,000 individuals benefited from Goodwill’s employment services.
Donating and shopping at Goodwill are excellent ways to make an investment in your local community and help your neighbors in hard times.
