University of Phoenix Partners with Goodwill through Scholarship Initiative

Goodwill of Central Arizona has partnered with the University of Phoenix to establish four full-tuition scholarships, which will provide educational opportunities to disadvantaged students in pursuit of their post-secondary academic goals.

The scholarships cover any area of study within the University of Phoenix and two scholarship recipients will start in the Fall 2009 semester.

“This vital partnership will supplement Goodwill’s commitment to the educational and career aspirations of Arizonans with economic disadvantages and barriers,” said Jim Teter, President and CEO for Goodwill of Central Arizona. “We understand the importance and power of a strong educational foundation and how that prepares individuals for a lifetime of independence.”

Four full-tuition scholarships will be awarded to students to seek an associate’s or bachelor’s degree online or at a University of Phoenix campus. To learn more about the scholarship or to download an application, please click HERE.

The partnership was formed in conjunction with Goodwill’s only annual fundraiser, the 2009 Evening of Goodwill. The event will be held on Saturday, Oct. 3 from 5-10 PM at Los Cedros in Scottsdale and will benefit educational initiatives for at-risk youth and adults seeking post-secondary education.
