Goodwill Welcomes New Community Leaders to Highly Dedicated Board of Directors

Goodwill recently welcomed six members to its board of directors: Donald Beaver, Senior Vice President and CIO for PetSmart; Dr. Victoria Jones, Diversity Officer Vice President for Apollo Group; Steve Kedzior, Senior Vice President, Field Sales and Services, Insight; Al Maag, Chief Communications Officer for Avnet; Chris Koziol, Managing Director of Mission Advisory Services and Dr. Jim McGovern, President for National Municipal Advisors, LLC.

Goodwill recruits board members with involvement in community and philanthropic organizations that promote social responsibility and ethical conduct. Additionally, Goodwill’s board of directors possesses the unique responsibility to focus on strategic opportunities which will enable Goodwill to achieve its long-term commitments to our community including the organization’s retail and mission initiatives. Goodwill has an important commitment to our local communities as a social enterprise offering human services to disadvantaged populations in central Arizona.

"I was inspired to join the Goodwill board to help further their cause of providing education and support to those with barriers to employment," said Steve Kedzior, Senior Vice President, Field Sales and Services, Insight. "Helping people secure gainful employment so they can provide for themselves and their family is an on-going cause for me and Goodwill excels at this. I'm proud to be a member of their board to help increase their reach and impact to our communities."

“Goodwill’s board of directors may very well be the ultimate volunteer experience,” said Jim Teter, President and CEO for Goodwill of Central Arizona. “We are honored to have individuals on our board with extensive community citizenship experience as well as a significant executive management background.”

Currently, Goodwill of Central Arizona has 25 board members from various backgrounds and with a diverse range of expertise in policy setting, governance and management. Goodwill’s volunteer board is tasked with helping to position the organization as one of central Arizona’s best community resources for those seeking employment services.

“These individuals continue to help steer the organization into a favorable position for the future growth and development of the Goodwill organization,” said Teter.
