Pathways Adult Training and Employment ProgramThe Pathways Adult Training and Employment Program aims to assist individuals who are interested in obtaining certification in green jobs. Furthermore, the Pathways Adult Training and Employment Program provides on-the-job training and placement in a high-growth emerging industry.

Pathways is 100 percent funded by a $1,531,442 grant from the Department of Labor Employment and Training Administration through Goodwill Industries International.

Obtain Your Green Certification

Green Jobs contribute significantly to the preservation and restoration of the environment. Completing Pathways Training will prepare you with industry-recognized credentials, skills and competencies needed to work in green industries such as agriculture, building construction, forestry, manufacturing, renewable "solar" energy and transportation.

The benefit to completing a green certification allows you to:

  • Obtain a job
  • Become consultant or contractor
  • Help to protect ecosystems and biodiversity
  • Reduce energy, materials and water consumption through high-efficiency strategies
  • De-carbonize the economy
  • Minimize or avoid the production of waste and pollution

On-the-Job Training

On-the-Job Training (OJT) is an individualized, employer-specific training program, designed and conducted on the actual work site. The participant (applicant) receives the specific skill training needed to maintain full-time, unsubsidized placement.

Partners of the Pathways Adult Program with Goodwill of Central Arizona are community colleges, corporations and local business. The activities of OJT include exposing program participants to:

  • Onsite training and working with sophisticated technologies and principles of sustainability in the workplace
  • Facilities management, green construction, green business development, heating and cooling, energy auditing, weatherization and installation

Pre-Employment Training

Pre-Employment Training allows participants to obtain higher paying jobs with benefits, thus providing the participants with the opportunity to financially support themselves and their families. Training includes:

  • Group Orientation
  • Mock Interviews
  • Resume Writing

Transitional Job Training

Transitional Jobs is an employment strategy that seeks to overcome employment barriers and transition participants with labor market barriers into work using wage-paid, short-term employment that combines real work, skill development and supportive services.

  • Earn a paycheck
  • Receive mentoring

Entrepreneurial Opportunities

Completing an industry specific Green Certification may allow you to be your own boss….
