Jenny Holsman Tetreault serves as the General Counsel of the West Region at US Foods, one of the leading foodservice distributors in the United States. With over $23B in annual revenue, US Foods was the 10th largest private company in America until its recent IPO. US Foods offers more than 350,000 national brand products and its own “exclusive brand” items, ranging from fresh meats and produce to prepackaged and frozen foods. The company employs approximately 25,000 people in more than 60 locations nationwide, and provides food and related products to more than 250,000 customers, including independent and multi-unit restaurants, healthcare and hospitality entities, government and educational institutions. In her role at US Foods, Jenny is responsible for providing practical, timely and high quality legal services to various functional groups in the West, including Sales, Finance and Credit, Regulatory, Marketing, Human Resources, Supply Chain, Merchandising, Employment, International Trade, Bankruptcy, Litigation, and Operations. She also provides legal support to the Tax Department on a national level.
Prior to US Foods, Jenny served as Division General Counsel for Rural/Metro Corporation, the second largest private medical transportation and fire service provider in the country (with revenue of nearly $1B). In this capacity, she handled contract drafting and negotiation (over 1000 contracts), litigation, compliance, mergers and acquisitions, risk management and regulatory matters for the company. She also served as the company’s corporate legal liaison to multiple divisions (senior management, the Board of Directors, human resources, marketing, government relations, IT, fleet, supply chain, and finance) and managed all litigation (approximately $25M in claims), employment (7,000 employees) and labor (20 unions) matters for the company on a national basis. While at Rural/Metro, she successfully guided the company through a financial restructuring and the merger with Envision Healthcare Holdings.
Prior to joining Rural/Metro Corporation, Jenny served as the Executive Director of Operations and Chief Legal Officer for the Arizona State University Alumni Association from 2007-2012. From 2003-2011, she worked as a litigation defense attorney (2003-2007), and Of Counsel (2007-2011) at Jones, Skelton & Hochuli, P.L.C. From 2011-2013, Jenny served as Of Counsel at Struck, Wieneke and Love, P.L.C., practicing in the area of civil rights, constitutional defense, and governmental liability. She is admitted in the state courts for Arizona and the District of Columbia, the U.S. District Courts for Arizona and the District of Columbia, and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Jenny is a proud graduate of Arizona State University (magna cum laude and Barrett Honors College). She earned both her masters and law degrees from Syracuse University, where she was named the Outstanding Law School Graduate upon her graduation. While at Syracuse, she served on The Journal of International Law and Commerce and The Syracuse Law and Technology Journal, and was a member of the Sojourner Truth National Appellate Team and Thomas Tang National Appellate Teams.
Mrs. Holsman Tetreault is very active in the community and currently serves as the Co-Chair for the United Way’s “Women United” program and the Wings of Gold Committee for Sun Devil Athletics. She also serves on the Board of Directors for the Arizona Foundation for Legal Services, Community Legal Services, Syracuse University Law School Association, the Sun Devil Club, the Children’s Museum of Phoenix, the International School of Arizona, the United Way, the Cactus-Pine Council of the Girl Scouts, the Arizona Foundation for Women, Valley Leadership, and Alpha Phi Fraternity. Jenny is also active with the Sandra Day O’Connor Inn of Court, Association of Corporate Counsel, and the State Bar of Arizona. In recognition for her work in the community, Jenny was recently named one of the “Top 10 Attorneys under 40” by the Association of Corporate Counsel, named an “Amazing Woman” by the Phoenix Suns in 2016, a “Dynamic Woman in Business” by the Phoenix Business Journal in 2015, and was a recipient of the Phoenix Business Journal’s Forty Under 40 in 2009. She also graduated from Valley Leadership in 2010 and was a Flinn-Brown Civic Leadership Academy Fellow in 2011.
She has served as a faculty member at the Sandra Day O’Connor School of Law since 2009 and teaches U.S. Law and Legal Analysis.
Most importantly, she is surrounded by an incredible team, including her husband Colin Tetreault, her 3 year old son (Connor), and her one year old daughter (Madeline). They love incredible food, traveling, outdoor activities, and exploring the world seeking their next adventure.
