Sometimes a little help, guidance and motivation can be the extra push needed to connect to a job. At Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona, we’re devoted to helping the community by fighting unemployment through our no-cost career centers for the public and through our online career service resources.
Whether you need help developing your resume, defining your skill set and applying for jobs, or simply want to brush up on your interviewing skills or optimize your LinkedIn profile, our career centers can help!
As soon as you walk into the career center, you’ll be greeted by one of our career advisors, many of which are resume writing certified. We’ll partner you with a career advisor who will help you to get the resources you need. He or she will walk you through our services and give you a tour of the facility to show you what is available and how we can help you!
Depending on your specific job search situation, your career advisor will help set you up at a computer so you can begin completing your skills assessment. This is an extremely crucial step and shows our career advisors how to best help you. The better they know you, the better they can assist you in finding a job!
After the skills assessment and initial conversations with your career advisor, we’ll determine where you are in your job search and how we can best help you. We’ll create your personalized plan based on everything your career advisor learned about you so far. Next steps may include any of the following, all of which are no-cost to the public:

All career centers are equipped with our Goodwill Employment Management System, or GEMS for short. GEMS is an internal website developed by Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona that provides our career center guests access to our complete database of employers and jobs. With this knowledge and your new skills, together we can set realistic next steps to help you connect to a job. Whether that includes finding job openings near where you live, or mapping out a bus route to an upcoming interview, we’re here to help.
