As the first of its kind adult public high school in Arizona, The Excel Center has seen significant growth in the last three years. Launched in 2022, The Excel Center offers a full high school curriculum to adults 18 and over, allowing students to earn a high school diploma.
From graduating one student in 2023 to graduating 41 students in 2025, The Excel Center has enrolled hundreds of students, giving more families hope and a chance to shape their future. It is a proven solution that not only helps individuals increase their salaries but also drives economic value to the state and local communities.
Approximately 11% of adults in Arizona do not have a high school diploma. This means that there are thousands of adults missing out on better job opportunities and increased lifetime earnings. By launching the first Excel Center campus in Arizona, Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona has helped families gain access to resources and education at no cost. This would not be possible without the support of our generous donors, partners, team members, and the community.
The Excel Center is more than a school; it offers more than just a diploma at graduation. Many individuals face barriers to employment and need certifications, some need childcare, and others may need reliable transportation. The Excel Center supports each one of these needs, and more. Isabel Sandoval felt overworked and underpaid as an inbound employee at a local call center. She found herself regularly stressed, working unmanageable hours and craving a normal work-life balance. Knowing that this was no longer the environment for her, Isabel decided it was time for a change.
